I've spent fifteen years working at the intersection of business operations and technology — leading data, analytics, and digital transformation programmes across recruitment, property services, professional services, maintenance operations, and technology-enabled businesses. The thread across all of it has been the same: businesses with real operational complexity, and the challenge of making technology work for them rather than around them.

Lumino started from a thesis I kept coming back to: most SMEs don't have a technology problem. They have an operating model problem. The systems are often adequate — what's missing is the design, the data discipline, and the leadership that makes them work as a joined-up operating layer. That's what I built Lumino to deliver. Not as a vendor, not as a project team — as a fractional partner who's embedded enough to understand the business and senior enough to make things change.

The fractional model matters because it closes a real gap. Businesses at £5M–£30M revenue need senior IT and digital thinking, but the full-time hire is premature, expensive, and slow to recruit. A fractional partner at that level gives the business the strategy, the delivery, and the accountability of a Head of IT — without the overhead. Two to four days a month, compounding every quarter.
